Code of Conduct

The commitments that make The Openers a community built on trust.

Last updated: May 2026

The Openers is built on trust between its members. By joining the community, everyone agrees to respect this code of conduct. It applies to every interaction on the platform: messages, listings, stays and community events.

Respect and kindness

Treat every member with courtesy, regardless of their background, gender, orientation, religion or status. Hate speech, harassment, discrimination and intimidation are strictly prohibited.

Honesty and transparency

Represent yourself, your home and your intentions truthfully. Listings must be accurate, photos true to reality and availability up to date. Any impersonation or misleading information leads to removal.

Community safety

Report any suspicious or dangerous behaviour through the platform's tools. Never share information that bypasses our protections (off-platform payments, premature contact details, circumventing verifications).

Respect for homes and places

As a guest, treat the home as if it were your own and follow the house rules. As a host, provide a clean, safe home that matches your listing.

Respect for privacy

The data and privacy of other members must be protected. Do not share personal information, photos or private exchanges without explicit consent.

Good faith

Use the platform in the spirit of the Commodat (loan for use): mutual help and sharing, without disguised commercial profit. Any misuse of the service for fraudulent purposes is sanctioned.

Consequences

Failure to respect this code may result in a warning, suspension or permanent removal of the account, without prejudice to any applicable legal action. The Openers reserves the right to assess each situation on a case-by-case basis.

This code of conduct complements our terms of use and privacy policy. If in doubt, contact our support team.
